(Beijing, November 21) On November 21, the fifth day of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Boxing Invitational tournament, Zhang Zhiyong, manager of transportation for the event, gave a briefing on their transportation service in an interview given to the official website of the event.

Except some fine adjustment during the competition the operation of the transportation has been going on smoothly according to the pre-event plans by the organizing committee. According to Zhang, the transportation team of the event consists of 300 people, who have provided transportation service to the AIBA officials, boxers, staff members and spectators. Among them distinguished guests from the AIBA and chief referee have their own special cars.

Altogether there are car parks for over 150 VIP cars, shuttle buses and cars of the media, staff and spectators. As Zhang put it, it is by no means easy to have such a large parking space available at an old indoor stadium in downtown Beijing. For this the local organizers have tried everything possible by making full use of the limited resources in order to meet the needs of the event.

"So far so good," Zhang said, referring to the daily parking since the opening of the tournament. "Usually we have 60 to 70 cars a day, and the number reached some 150 on the night of the opening ceremony," he added. "Next year's Olympic Games will be a greater challenge to our transportation service, so we're going to find more parking space around the venue."
