(Beijing, November 18) In the 57kg preliminaries on the second day of the 2007 International Boxing Tournament, Chinese boxer Li Yang beat A. K. G. K. Sameera of Sri Lanka 25-5 to qualify for the next round. After the match Li gave an interview to the media.

Today Li Yang clinched an easy win over his Sri Lankan opponent. When the score turned 25-5 the referee stopped the contest. Commenting on his performance, Li Yang said, "I've just returned from the World Championships and am just over my jetlag. I think I had brought out my best today."

Prior to that, all Chinese competitors had been eliminated, but Li Yang said he had not been affected by their defeat. "I just focused my attention on my own match, and nothing could affect me. There was no pressure on me, and so I did not get nervous. As to the following competition, I will continue to do my best and try to feel the Olympic atmosphere in this excellent future Olympic venue."
