(Beijing, November 18) The 69kg preliminaries of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Boxing Tournament were contested at the Beijing Workers' Indoor Arena on November 18, the second day of the tournament. As a result, Arturo Santos from Mexico beat Orlando Tacuyan Jr. from the Philippines to advance to the quarterfinals. After the match Santos gave an interview to the media.

Having qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, 22-year-old Santos said, although he would be here next year for the Olympics he still chose to come for this tournament. "I hope to take part in as many as competitions as I could before the Olympics in order to adjust my form to the best," he said.

Santos spoke hightly of the would-be Olympic venue. "I have been to many places in Europe to compete and my feeling is the venue here is as good as the ones in Europe. I am very happy I will have the chance to come to Beijing for the Olympics next year,"
he added.
