(Beijing, November 19) The 91kg quarterfinals of the 2007 International Boxing Invitational Tournament held at the Beijing Workers' Indoor Arena this evening saw China's Wang Leilei eliminated 25-17 by Deontay Wilder of the United States due to lack of staying power.

Wang Leilei led 5-4 in the first round and drew 8-8 with his opponent in the second. In the following two rounds Wilder adjusted his tactics to score time and again with combination blows and soon clinched the bout with 25-17 despite Wang's efforts to turn the table.

Commenting on the match, Wang Leilei regretted that he knew nothing about his US opponent as the latter had never showed up in the World Championships. "I was eager to win, and I tried too hard in first half of the match," he said, "plus he's much taller than me."
