Day 3 roundup: Kazakhstan, USA and Russia shine in quarterfinals

(Beijing, November 19) The "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Boxing Invitational Tournament wrapped up its third day's contests at the Beijing Workers' Indoor Arena on November 19 as Kazakhstan, the United States and Russia each had four entering the semifinals with China's Zhang Zhilei qualifying for the semi of the +91kg category.

The other two boxers of the Chinese national team were upset as Li Yang dropped out in the 57kg category due to leg injury and Wang Leilei lost to his American opponent in the 91kg.

None of the four boxers of the Beijing municipal team made to the next phase. They are Li Jinbao (51kg), Li Sijia (60kg), Zhang Shuai (91kg) and Jia Xiao (+91).

The two boxers of the Chinese Taipei team were eliminated either.

Triumphs belonged to Kazakhstan, USA and Russia as they had four boxers cruising into the semis apiece.

Mexico and India each had two into the next phase.

All the semifinals of the six categories will be held on November 21.
